Lt. Donald Maimagani Takes Patience As Wife

..With over 35 priests in attendance

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Lieutenant Donald Maimagani, younger brother of the Acting Director/ Chaplain of Nigerian Army Catholic chaplaincy, Rev Fr. Anthony Francis Maimagani has taken former Miss patience Yohanna as wife.

The event which looked like the most celebrated wedding solemnization in Kaduna in recent times took place at the Holy Family, Parish, Barnawa, Kaduna on Saturday, attracting over 35 priests and an array of religious and lay persons, family members, friends and wellwishers across Nigeria.

Speaking to Journalists shortly after the Mass, the Acting Director/ Chaplain Nigerian Army Catholic Chaplaincy , Rev Fr. Colonel Anthony Francis Mai magani,
Said ” the man who just wedded today is my younger brother, he’s the second to the last in the family,

He further hinted on how it all started for the newly wedded couple ” Well the brief thing I knew about this, is that he met her through one of our nieces: she’s a friend to one of our nieces, and I think that was how they first met”

While appreciating God for being gracious, he admonished them saying ” I am filled with joy and I pray that their home will be a peaceful home, a happy home and that they will love themselves as one and nothing should come in between them and even if they are angry they should not allow it to overshadow the great joy that they had the first day that they saw, and love themselves’ he stated

Commenting on the large turn out of Priests at the wedding ” You know the joy of the priesthood is that we are brothers, they say blood is thicker than water, but the priesthood is even thicker than blood; I am a brother to them than even my siblings, by the virtue of the laying on of hands as priest adding that, the number of priests would have been more, if not for Saturday parish engagements by priests

Describing his younger brother and groom saying ” well I see him as my father, though, he’s my younger brother he has that quality; he’s calm, focused and he’s a gentleman, that takes things easy” he added

Similarly, the host, Vicar General Administration of the Catholic archdiocese of Kaduna and parish priest of Holy Family, Barnawa, Very Rev. Fr. Philip Maigamu Gaiya, said the groom is a cousin to him adding that” his Father actually is the one that instructed me on Catechism when I was growing up, his father grew up and went to the Army from our house, so we are more or less members of the family”

Describing how it feels ” I am very happy and was even surprised because he’s working in Bayelsa and he decided to come and register for his wedding here in the parish, which I was very glad to assist and the thing has come out very well” he aveered

He admonished the couple, saying ” what I would say is as the Homilist has put it right, it’s love that brought them together, it’s love that will sustain their marriage and so that should be the watchword of their marriage, if there’s love between the couple offcourse nothing will go wrong in their marriage, so I urge them to appreciate and be patient with one another”

Speaking further, he said, ” the first day the bride came and introduced herself to me, she said her name is patiience, and I said, I hope you have patience,and she said yes; so I hope they will be patient with one another and live in peace,” he stressed

On his part, the groom, Lieutenant Donald Francis Maimagani, Who’s serving at 5 batalion, Elele, while expressing joy recounted how they first met, ” I will say, I am a very lucky man today, to have found her my missing rib, It started just like a play or a joke and as time went on it became serious and today here, we are, and I say to God be the glory” he added

He described his wife , saying ” She’s kind, easy going, she’s patient, just like her name and I think, she will be a good companion” he reiterated

ln the same vein, the Bride, Patience Donald Maimagani says” I am really overwhelmed today, that God has joined me with the most loving husband, so I’m really happy, I can’t really express my joy.” On why the choice of her husband ” he’s unique in his ways” she added
