NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Nigeria Labour congress, (NLC) and the Trade union congress,( TUC) in Zamfara state, have condemned the non- payment of the two months salary of workers by the state government.

In a joint Statement on Wednesday by the Chairperson NLC Comrade Sani Halliru (Magajin Rafin Kurya) and Chairman TUC, Comrade Saidu Mudi, Zamfara State councils respectively, the labour centers further called on the state government to effect payment of workers to alleviate their suffering.

” Series of issues prevailed and meetings were vigorously held in respect of the above subject matter involving all the stakeholders on the best way it could be handled where the two labour centres, the Nigeria labour congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, strongly condemned and expressed their dismay over the nonchallant attitude of the Zamfara state government to pay salary of its workers for two consecutive months.

” Having patiently waited for the salary to be paid, the two labour centers therefore as a matter of responsibility request the state government to save lives of workers and that of their families who heavily relies on salary and being their legitimate earnings and their statutory rights to with immediate effect pay the salary with a view to alleviating their hardships.

” The NLC/TUC have understood and are concerned about how aggrieved state civil servants are, however, we crave for your indulgence, support and cooperation as we move to fight for your rights, therefore we urge you to be more patient and persevere.

“We vowed not to relent until your salary is paid Inshaa Allah.” the statement added.
