NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Reverend Father Amos Wada Musa Isah, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Kano has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer, sustain their faith in God, and refuse to compromise their votes for material inducements.
Father Isa made these remarks shortly after ministering at the First Friday October Edition Adoration program, tagged ‘ Highly Favored ‘held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Kakuri, Kaduna, with Reverend Father Lucas Zasan Auta serving as the Parish Priest.
Reflecting on the spiritual exercise, the cleric expressed gratitude to God for a successful program, noting that while human efforts have limitations, divine grace ultimately perfects all things.
Addressing the socio-economic challenges confronting the nation, Father Isa urged citizens to continually pray for those in authority while expressing strong optimism about Nigeria’s future.
” We pray that God will grant them the grace to succeed, so we can all have a better nation and smile again, just as we did 66 years ago.”
He encouraged the faithful never to lose hope, assuring them that God would eventually rewrite the nation’s story.
Speaking on the forthcoming 2027 general elections, the cleric issued a passionate appeal to the electorate to prioritize safety and civic responsibility.
He admonished citizens to avoid any form of violence and to value their lives above all else during the electoral process.
Father Isa also warned voters not to be deceived by money or temporary material gifts. “Material things will be given to them for just one day or one week, and the suffering will continue for four years,” he cautioned.
He urged eligible citizens to come out en masse and peacefully vote for candidates of their choice without falling victim to manipulation or chaos.
Directing his message to political actors and the younger generation, Father Isa implored candidates and political leaders to desist from recruiting youths as political thugs or agents of crisis.
He specifically advised young Nigerians not to allow themselves to be exploited by politicians during the electioneering period, emphasizing that peace and integrity must prevail for Nigeria to achieve lasting progress.
