Trump Confirms Aircraft Switch After NATO Summit

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: President Donald Trump has confirmed that he secretly switched aircraft after last month’s NATO summit in Turkey following security advice from the Secret Service and the military.

Trump told reporters that he followed the recommendations of his security team after being informed of a potential threat.

“It’s only up to Secret Service. I just follow what they’d like to do,” Trump said, adding that he also relied on the military’s advice.

The Washington Post first reported on Monday that Trump was transferred from Air Force One to a smaller military aircraft through an airport catering vehicle.

The unusual transfer reportedly took place while presidential aides and journalists remained aboard Air Force One.

Trump confirmed the aircraft switch but said he was not particularly concerned about the reported threat.

“I guess there was a threat out there. I didn’t really ask too much about it,” he said.

Trump added that he receives numerous threats because of his position as president.

“I have a lot of threats that you don’t know about,” he said, arguing that consequential presidents routinely face security threats.
