NEWSDAILYNIGERIA -The Nigeria Union of Journalists,(NUJ),Kaduna State council has lamented the rising insecurity, especially the issues of kidnapping and banditry bedeviling the state.
The Union further called on citizens to support the government to nip in the bud the insecurity situation in the state.
In the same vein,the council described Sheikh Ahmed Gumi’s initiative at making Kidnappers and Bandits in the state,drop their acts of criminality,as commendable and encouraging.
In a communique at of the end of monthly Congress on Thursday, presided by the Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf and signed by the Secretary, Comrade John Femi Adi,the council further charged members to be vigilant considering the security situation as they go about their daily activities,
The Congress ” Commended Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, for the personal efforts made to meet with kidnappers/bandits in their hideouts to convince them to lay off their arms against the Nation.
And “Expressed worries over the growing insecurity problem in the State and noted that what is happening in the state required the support of all citizens, therefore called on all the citizens to support the government to win the war against insecurity.
It further” Urged members to be security conscious ; mindful of where they go and what they do at this critical times for their own safety.
” Commended the urban renewal efforts of Kaduna State government , but reiterated call for expansion of the projects to other parts of State, especially southern part of the metropolis.
“Condoled Kaduna State Government on the death of two prominent members of the Zazzau Emirate Council; Dan Iyyan Zazzau Alhaji Bashir Aminu and Talba Zazzau, Abubakar Pate, who died recently.
