.. Says it’s aimed at tackling educational challenges

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA– The national President, Parent Teachers association of Nigeria, Alhaji Danjuma Haruna has called on states and federal Government to as a matter of urgency recruit large number of trained and qualify teachers, in order to reduce the huge challenge affecting the educational sector in the country.

He said the current insecurity challenges amid covid 19 pandemic in the northern part of the country have had negative consequences on the educational sector both at the primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.

Danjuma, also emphasized the need of equipping their classes with latest and digital teaching aids to enable them educate the Pupils/students through the modern ways of teaching while using latest technology.

According to him, there is a need to employ qualified teachers from colleges of education and other tertiary institutions across the nation, so as to enable students have enough teachers that can impact on them, while calling for the decongestion of students in a single classroom.

“Since the arriving of Covid 19 luckdown, education nation wide begins facing different challenges, hence the need for new innovative ideas and strategies to tackle the issues”

Stressing that this would surely reduce the large crowd of students, a single teacher is taking in a class.

” its really unfortunate some students are over 80-90 in a class , and they are much for the teacher to take care of them”

He said, some state governors in past have sacked large number of teachers, hence the need to now recruit many qualify ones so as to fill in the vacuum of the ones that were sacked.

He however thanked the Kaduna state government for the re- opening of schools ,while appealing for the state governor to provide adequate security in all the schools across the 23 local government areas of the state.

He equally drew the attention of all the northern states governors to as a matter of emergency deplore large number of security forces at schools premises ,which should include the police , Hunters ,vigilantes and other local security in the area to help towards tackling insecurity challenges bedeviling peace and stability in the educational sector.

While also calling for synergy among all the security forces which will help them succeed in protecting children and teachers in all schools across the country.

He also maintained the fact that engaging traditional and religious leaders with other stakeholders on education towards supporting and protecting school premises will help halt the activities of bandits terrorising the nation.

The PTA president further stressed the need for state governments to always assist teachers with latest and digital teaching aids, so as to enable and help in impacting education to the younger ones.

He then called for special prayers for all the Nigerian security forces in the battle ground towards winning the war against Boko haram and banditry

Danjuma also thanked the military for all the successful operations aimed at eliminating banditry actiities in the region and nation at large.
