We’ve Recorded Successes Against Banditry- Zamfara Commissioner

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA– The Zamfara state Commissioner of information, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara has said the state has recorded successes in the onslaughts against banditry and other forms of insecurity bedevilling the state.

He acknowledged the support of Zamfara State people in allowing them enforce stiffer measures in clearing out the bandits “we have recorded success in making the bandits to flee out of Zamfara state to nearby state for fear of being killed”. he stated

He disclosed this at a media chat with Journalists and other stakeholders in Kaduna on Thursday, where he further hinted that the telecoms shutdown in the state will soon be ended in days, to make life better for the people.

He further confirmed that the commissioner for security affairs of Sokoto state granted an interview to NTA where he Stated that “only 20% of bandits in Zamfara and Katsina states are still in the bush while 80% have already fled the state to Sokoto state”,

According to him, he is rest assured that the Sokoto State Government will also try its best to wipe out the bandits in the state.

Going forward he added that “we have recorded successes from the measures taken and with the support of the people except for antagonist of peace and tranquility, progress and development who are not happy with the measures we have taken”, he stressed

He said that due to the prayers and support of Zamfara state people that the government decided to provide food stuffs such as rice, maize, millet and other commodities to relief the hardship created by the shutdown of telecom network.

The commissioner also announced the arrest of over two thousand informants in the Zamfara State, who are now providing vital information regarding their operations and the way they collaborate with the bandits and also high placed people in the society.

He further said Government has decided to form a situation room and a committee where complaints and vital information will be collated from different places, where Government will respond positively especially where reports of community being attacked can be easily informed through the situation room.

Dosara maintained that they have recorded huge success due to the stiffer actions taken, “the bandits resorted to eating raw food in the bush since there is no communication with their collaborators inside the town to provide food and other essential commodities that will help them to stay strong

” as a result of these the Government is considering opening the state capital interms of mobile network services by the end of this week” he added

He assured the people of Zamfara of a peaceful Zamfara State once the operations are ended
