Kaduna 2023: Ashiru Laments Insecurity, Declares For Guber Race

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The former Kaduna governorship Candidate of the PDP in the 2019 General election, Rt Hon. Isa  Mohammed Ashiru has lamented the state of insecurity and gross failure of the APC on several fronts in the state.

While observing a one minute silence inhonour of victims of the last Kaduna- Abuja train and other atacks in the state, pledged to salvage Kaduna state from the manace of kidnapping, banditry and general insecurity that has bedevilled the state.

Ashiru also hinted on his resolve to prioritize security, unity among people, Education, health, Agriculture unemployment and women and youths empowerment,  ICT, rural development and inclusive Leadership, among others,  if given the mandate as Governor of Kaduna state.

He made this known while declaring his aspiration for Governorship at the PDP state secretariat on Tuesday, amidst a mamoth crowd; where he further promised to reunite the people of the state to move the state forward; with a call on the people of Kaduna state to come together to rescue and build a new Kaduna state.

“It is with absolute humility and utmost pleasure that I stand before you this afternoon to declare and submit my letter of intent to run for the gubernatorial ticket of our great party in the forthcoming primaries.

“Let me seize this golden opportunity to, once again, congratulate you on your emergence as the State Executives of our great party in the hugely successful 2020 party congresses.

“Considering the wonderful performance of the PDP during the 2021 Local Government Council Elections in Kaduna State and the encouraging manner in which people have been massively joining the party, I can confidently say that the present State Executive Committee under Honorable Felix Hassan Hyet has been steering the ship of our party in the right direction.

“You may all recall that we worked tirelessly during the last  General Election in 2019 with me as the Gubernatorial Candidate of the PDP. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for the opportunity given to me to fly the flag of the party” he added

According to him, ” Three years after that particular attempt, Kaduna State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to experience severe setback. We are all victims of various forms of insecurity like kidnapping, banditry and violent conflicts which have become most prevalent in the State; in addition to increasing poverty, unemployment and disharmony among our people.

“The task before us, therefore, is to salvage our dear Kaduna State, reunite the people and move the State forward. We are going to attach priority to security, education, agriculture, health as well as women and youth empowerment, information technology, rural development and inclusiveness in governance, among others.

“I believe that if given the ticket, we would all work together to win the gubernatorial election come February, 2023 so that the PDP government can rescue the State from the current frightening situation. We have done it before and we will do it again, in sha Allah.

“Once again, thank you for giving me the opportunity to address the State Working Committee of our great party.

“My Dear People of Kaduna State, Come let’s Rescue and Rebuild Kaduna State! With your support, it is possible” he averred
