Speaking to journalists, during the event, the Founder/CEO, Chief Dr. Chetachi Ecton Dikko said her humanitarian gestures were coined and motivated as a result of her true life experiences while growing up.

Noting that, she experienced so many life’s huddles, during her adolescent stage, starting as a single mother, with no much parental care, which resulted to her involving in different menial jobs after leaving the country for the USA, just to meet her daily needs.

According to her, that changed her life positively and presented her a first hand experience on what it feels to be born and raised in a less privileged home, pointing out that, she would serve humanity with all that God blesses her with.

“I went through all the hardships, I was a street vendor, I was a cap driver, I sold ice cream, I did everything that you could think of. I was a house keeper, I was a chef in Kentucky Fried Chicken, I did everything right that I was supposed to do, because I believed that one day, I would be blessed; then I promised God that whenever he blesses me, I am going to bless others,

“But I did not tell him that I have to be rich, to start blessing others; so when he started blessing me just a little, when I could afford three meals for my children, then I started giving out; that’s how When In Need Foundation came about”, she stated.

Speaking further, she said ELIMH Foundation came into existence because of her desirability for each and every individual to place higher value upon himself/herself, not minding his/her background.

“I formed Every Life Matters because I want to tell everybody, especially here in Nigeria regardless of who they are, regardless whether they are poor, they are rich, they’re in the village, they’re in the city, the girl child, the youths, everybody, that your life matter.”

Adding that “Nobody should dictate to you, nobody should belittle you, you’re a human being just like everyone else, so believe in yourself, and you will work a little harder to make sure that your life matters, you will work harder, making your life meaningful”.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Chinasa Emorou said this gesture was one of its kind, since her 14 years of widowhood. “I thank God for us having a woman like this, a woman with a heart of gold, who remembered us, especially me, I’ve not been given anything as a widow before, except this one.”

Another aged widow Mrs.Juliana Echegini sang songs of thanksgiving, saying “The God that has used her to bless us, will bless her in Jesus name.”

Earlier, the When In Need Foundation (WIN)and Every Life Matters Humanitarian Foundation (ELIMH) Foundations visited the Save The Child Motherless Abandoned Babies Home situated at N zone 3, Owerri, where similar gestures were presented to about 32 children.

Recall that, the WIN Foundation in partnership with Medicare Hospital, Gwarinpa, Abuja, in May and June offered free medical services to adults, and distributed infants formula and other household items to nursing mothers, where more than 200 children were beneficiaries.

The WIN Foundation was founded over 20 years ago in the USA, while the ELIMH came into existence barely 3 months ago, and has so far covered up to 29 states in Nigeria, with its desire to cover the entire country in no distant time.
