NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: It was excitement galore as members of the society of St. Vincent de paul, Kaduna central council celebrated the feast of their patron saint at Queen of Apostles Catholic church Kakuri, Kaduna.

The ceremony held recently started with the Holy Mass, celebrated by His Grace Most Rev. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, the Archbishop of Kaduna.

The concelebrants were the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. John.E. Abutu, and the Resident Priest, Rev. Fr. K. Kaboshio

Recall that, the society of St. Vincent De Paul was founded in France in 1833, by a group of students led by Frederick Ozanam, a law student now referred to as Blessed Frederick Ozanam.

The society was named after St. Vincent de paul, the patron saint of charity.

In his homily, the Archbishop described St. Vincent de paul, as a man who during his lifetime, dedicated his life to the cause of the poor and the needy.

According to Ndagoso, it was a privilege, because to serve the poor and needy is to serve God.

Similarly, the Parish Priest, Fr. John. E. Abutu felicitated with the members of the society and also thanked all who took part in the Eucharistic celebration.

In his closing remark, the Parish council chairman, Mr. Hyacinth Dakwang, expressed his appreciation to the society for their contribution in the parish.

Adding that, the society has been doing well in helping parishioners , who are in need.
