NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has on Friday inducted the fourth set of 20 Medical Doctors who graduated from the College of Medicine, Kaduna State University.

A statement signed by the Public Relations officer (PRO) of the university, Mr Adamu Nuhu Bargo, on Friday, further said the graduands were offered job opportunities in the university upon completion of their house job and National youth service., owing to their outstanding feats.

Speaking the Registrar of MDCN, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi, explained that the induction and Oath-taking ceremony was meant to prepare the new medical doctors for academic and professional excellence.

He charged the inductees to exercise the several parts of their profession to the best of their knowledge and ability for the good, safety and welfare of all persons committed to them for care and attention.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, KASU, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa congratulated the graduands, their teachers and parents on achieving such a great feat.

The VC encouraged the new doctors to uphold the tenets of the profession thereby making their Alma mater proud.

He concluded by offering them job opportunities in the University after their house job and National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). The kind gesture was made as a result of their outstanding performances.

The Provost, College of Medicine, Prof. Abdullahi A. Abba stated with great pride that KASU medical graduates are highly rated in all the hospitals they worked/work as house officers or corpers.

‘To the graduands, each one of you is here today through your own sustained hard work. I applaud you for the courage to face the challenges of University learning, more so in the College of Medicine.’

He said that the whole University celebrates with the inductees.

‘We are proud of your achievements, but there is much more to do, and this marks a new beginning-your KASU Ambassadorial Role.

I therefore call on all of you to go out from here with confidence, patience, and empathy as you practice this noble profession with our blessings and best wishes,’ said the Provost.

The Honourable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Amina Mohammed Baloni who was represented by the Chairman, Private Health Establishment Committee, Dr. Mark David Anthony advised them never to deviate from the ethics of the noble profession as they will be faced with challenges bedevilling the health sector.

In the same vein, the Chief Medical Director, Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, KASU, Prof. Abdulkadir M. Tabari felicitated with the doctors and offered them the opportunity to do their one year mandatory House Job in the State-owned hospital to polish their clinical skills.

The 4th Sponsio-Academica/Oath-taking ceremony of the graduating medical students was a success.
