2023: Obi Commends Directive For Varsities Closure To Enable Students Vote

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The presidential candidate of the Labour party,( LP), Mr Peter Obi, has welcomed the decision of the Nigerian Universities Commission, (NUC) to close session to allow students vote during the 2023 general elections

The presidential hopeful, said the essence of the short break is make it possible for students to exercise their constitutional rights to vote.

NUC ordered the closure of universities from February 22nd – March 14. 2023.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, gave the directive following consultation with relevant security agencies.

Obi on his twitter handle, said

” I heartily welcome the decision of the National Universities Commission (NUC), to close universities ahead of the 2023 general elections.

“So as to enable the students participate in the polls and exercise their constitutional rights to vote.” -PO”
