CAN Lashes Out At Garba Shehu Over Comments Against Kukah,Says He’s Caused Nigeria Much Embarrassment

Says his comments ungodly, unholy and not Kukah’s

-Lambasts Channels Television over bais reporting  of security issues in Kaduna

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA -The Chairman  Christian Association of Nigeria( CAN) Kaduna State Chapter,Rev. Joseph Hayab has taken a swipe at  the Special assistant to the president on media and publicity Mall Gatba Shehu,over his attack on Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah’s Easter message on the palpable manace of insecurity in the country.

The Bishop of Sokoto in his Easter message lamented the precarious state of insecurity in Nigeria, describing” Nigeria as a killing Field” a message that did not go down well with the presidency, hence the reaction by Garba Shehu thus referring to Bishop Kukah’s message as ungodly or unholy

According to Hayab,it is actually Garba Shehu’s comments that is both ungodly and Unholy and not Bishop Kukah’s as claimed by the presidency adding that Garba Shehu’s comments since assumption of this government has caused great embarrassment to the country than good

He stated this to Newsmen at a  special CAN Easter prayer session for Peace and Security in the State and Nigeria on Monday in Kaduna, where he  further frowned at why the Revered Cleric is always singled out for attacks by the presidency and the likes of Garba Shehu, anytime his speaks the truth to those in power.

” Anytime Bishop Kukah speaks truth to power,we hear people coming out to challenge him and the word used by Garba Shehu is simply that Kukah’s message is ungodly or unholy, l want Garba Shehu to know that he’s the one making ungodly messages to Nigerians,

“If Garba Shehu will be man enough to go back,sit and listen to himself in the past six years,Garba Shehu has caused this country so much embarrassment from his statements,adding that,when Kukah asked them to do what is right, is that what he did wrong?

Speaking further,he said ” I want to even answer him_because he said Kukah should go to Adamawa or Borno to find out that people will tell him life is now better ”

He however wondered saying “in which country, are we not in Nigeria or is Garba Shehu living in the federal republic of another country not Nigeria?

” I can tell you what is happening in Borno,what is happening in Yobe,just as they think they have the privilege of information,we also have, the church is virtually, every where, alot of our members have been victims, so we know the story ,we know the pains they go through, so there’s nothing that has changed,

” so we cannot celebrate our government just because we want to be nice guys; we want to tell our government the truth,because we want them to be better “he stressed

While commending Kukah for his doggedness and patriotism as one Nigeriian that has been that ” voice that is consistent in saying the truth,this country does not not want the truth,because people are afraid,if we keep quite, evil will come and take us on our beds,but when we speak,we may help the president, governors,the IG,service chiefs know what they do not know” he maintained

According to him,what is happening today is that they don’t listen to Nigerians, they only pay attention to to praise singers,pointing out that,if only government can just create time to listen to Nigerians, within a short time, things will change for the better.

He further cautioned government to be at home with those that tell them the truth because they want them to succeed and not make them objects of Media blackmail, saying ” speaking bad against us is not the problem, do what we are pleading with you to do, and it’s not for us, but for the generality of the people ” he reiterated

Hayab also lashed at Channels Television over its alleged biased and unprofessional reportage of happenings in Kaduna state, in favour of the state government, at the detriment of the security and lives of citizens of the state, especially they 39 afaka students, Redeemed members,Rev.Father and others in the kidnappers’ den

” where is their sense of social responsibility based on honesty and balanced journalism and the keep interviewing him to insult Kaduna people, insult institutions, insult individuals by name, the simple thing is that, we want him to go and ensure that these children,RCCG members, and all those kidnapped in Kaduna are back home

“We are not asking him to go and negotiate with bandits but to use the might of government, these bandits are supposed to be on the run and hiding now but because we are being governed in Kaduna state on channels Television, the bandits are killing our people and we listening to some noise on that media,what a shame” he lamented
