2023: PLWDs NorthWest Drum Support For Atiku

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The persons living with Disabilities, ( PLWDs) northwest, have declared their support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, in the 2023 general elections.

The group  at a one day sensitization program on Tuesday at the Arewa house Kaduna, also canvassed for support for all People’s Democratic Party Candidates in the 2023 general elections at all levels

The convener, Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, Chairman PLWD and DG, national coordinator of persons with special needs under Abubarkar campaign council, said ” we are supporting Atiku Abubakar  because of his caring, love and concern for people living with disability, it has been long that he has been caring for the people living with disabilty.” 

Adding that they sincerely believed Atiku  Abubakar will solve the challenges of lack of friendly infrastracture they we are faced with,” and we made a demand to him that we need to be involved in the government and he promised that he will carry us along and appoint atleast five percent of people living with special needs in his Government” he stressed.

On the fears of invalid votes by his members, he hinted, ” we have committees at the states and local government levels educating the electorates, our people on how to vote and you know  INEC has made a special provision for that”  hence the need to hold sensitization programs on how their members can vote adding that the votes the intend giving to the PDP is ” as much as they can” , he added

Similarly,, the Deputy Director General DG, 19 northern states including Abuja, Mr Epriam Balarabe, while lamenting the difficulty faced by people living with disability during successive governments, however thanked the APC government for establishing the commission for people with disability and also gave a waiver of  five percent to enhance any other aspect to disabilities rights.

He however said, Atiku’s promise of ”  20 percent waiver surpasses what exists now” , adding that they need someone that is credible , has integrity and competent, educated and physically and mental capability  to be our next president.

He  further urged their members to vote carefully while using thier finger tip to vote not to invalidate their votes stressing  also that there’s an undestanding with INEC for people with special needs to be guided to vote rightly, the persons of their chioce.

On his part, the Chairman of the Occasion and former Commissioner Culture and Tourism Kaduna State Abdurrashid Kakangi comended Atiku Abubakar for his gesture to the people with special needs his promise to include people with special needs into his cabinet, if elected.

He also called on their members to come out and vote massively for PDP from top to bottom to ensure that they change the current situations from insecurity, poverty and the Naira redesigned saga bedevilling the nation.

Earlier, in his remarks, Hon. Akilu Abdullahi Jugnu Director Mobilization welcomed all the participants to the important gathering being first of its kind in Northern Nigeria and also wished success to the PDP from top to bottom.

The array of state coordinators at the event expressed their committment and support to PDP and Atiku/Okowa for the betterment of the nation and also for the concern shown by Atiku to people with special needs.
