NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Independent  National Electoral  Commission, ( INEC) In Kaduna, has distributed sensitive materials for the March, 11, Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

The distribution of materials which held on Wednesday at CBN Kaduna state, had party agents and INEC officials on ground to ensure a successful distribution of the election materials to the 23 LGAs of the state.

Speaking to journalists, the Acting INEC Resident Commissioner, Kaduna State, Alh Auwal Mashi, said“ they have learned their mistakes from the presidential and federal house of assembly elections in the aspect of logistics, that is why we commence the distribution early so that materials will get to the local government areas down to the wards and polling units on time”.

He added that each local government took their time to check on the materials by making sure all necessary documents and papers are intact.

Mashi further assured the electorates that all the shortcomings encountered during the presidential elections will be overcomed and that the electorates should look forward for better workings from the part of the commission in the entire 36 states of the federation not only Kaduna State.

Similarly, Danjuma Bello Sarki, State collation Agent for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna State, commended INEC for early distribution of election materials to various local government areas in the in the state. 

On the early distributions, he said “this is aimed at ensuring that there is no delay on the election day, today is Wednesday if all the local governments get their materials latest on Thursday and on Friday to the wards, each polling units can get their materials early on election day, voting can commence as early as 8:30am as stipulated by INEC”.

He further urged INEC to be unbiased, to be neutral and not allow themselves to be compromised by any politician or anybody, “they should show high sense of professionalism as they performed in the presidential election” 

He also urged security agencies, to perform their duties professionalism because “we are getting fillers and rumours that they want to use security agents to disrupt the election, I call on them to maintain neutrality for the peaceful conduct of the exercise”.

He urged electorates to come out in their numbers to vote for competent leaders, they should not allow somebody to convince them using sentiment, ethnicity, tribe or religion, “you should look out for credibility, so that we all will not regret after voting”.

On his part, Hon Polycarp Gankon, the Labour Party (LP) Agent stated that, “this is the climax of the election, we are here to witness everything and also we are debunking the rumour that Labour Party Governorship candidate has dropped from the race, it is a lie, we are fully in the race”. He called on the teaming supporters of the Labour Party to come out and vote for the party of the year.

He also gave kudos to INEC for the early distribution of materials, “with these we the Labour Party are very pleased with everything and we pray for smooth conduct of the election, if not, for any future issues before Saturday”.he added.

It would be recalled that there was late commencement of voting in most polling units across the country,  during, the presidential and National assembly elections, this gave birth to the early distribution of materials by INEC to all the 23 Local Government Areas across Kaduna state.
