NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The women’s wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, has strongly criticised the Independent National Electoral Commussion, ( INEC) over the 18 March governorship election result in Kaduna.

The group alleged that the electoral body was complicit in the process thus shortchanging the PDP guber candidate, Ashiru Kudan, who they believed won the election.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, (NEC) declared the candidate of the APC Senator Uba Sani winner of the election.

In their numbers, the women staged a peaceful protest at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press centre on Thursday to register their dissatisfaction on the outcome of the election, while carrying placards with several inscriptions. Such as

“    Give us who we voted”, “Kaduna people elected, INEC selected”  A stolen Mandate is Not Acceptable”, “Give Us Who We Voted For”,  “No to election rigging”, “Kaduna State has spoken”, “, “No to Result Manipulation”.

Speaking to Journalists , the former Kaduna State women leader and PDP women leader northwest zone and former Commissioner, women affairs,  Aisha Maidana Ibrahim, said,  the people of Kaduna State massively voted for PDP’s Isa Ashiru, but when “Everybody heard the result and wondered why INEC should change the result in favour of the APC candidate.”

Ibrahim further accused INEC of stealing the mandate of the people of Kaduna State and giving it to the APC, alleging that various results were reduced in most local government areas of the state.

She further noted the need for INEC to be free, fair and objective in dealing with Nigerians to give them what they voted for.

She said, “It is unbecoming of INEC and we will employ every legal means to reclaim our mandate. Nigerians are tired to be taken aback 200 years ago instead of progressing and so, they can not continue robbing us of our choices.” she added.

In the same vein, the leader of the group Prince Gmoney Owolaiya, also known as (Gmoney) said the purpose of the peaceful protest is to tell the whole world that their mandate was stolen.
