NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Sabil Charitable International Organization,( SCIO) and Umaru Wali Foundation embarked on Breast Cancer awareness outreach on testing for early detection/ treatment and counselling on all types of cancers as the World marks the Breast Cancer week in Kaduna.

The sensitization campaign is aimed at the vulnerable group particularly, women of child bearing age, how they can protect and prevent themselves from becoming susceptible by going to the hospital for regular checks and refraining from using local and self medication instead of orthodox means to treatment.

The event took place at the Rabah Road residence of the SCIO President, Hajiya Halimatu Sadiya Abdu, who advised women to always go to the hospital when they feel unwell.

She said this is necessary, especially, when they detect lumps in their breasts or any other ailment that is defying treatment and to stop taking concoctions that may not serve their purpose.

Adding that, it’s even more important to do so now that we have more female doctors in our hospitals.

It would be noted that, a team of female doctors from Barau Dikko Teaching hospital led by Dr Habiba Zubairu were at hand to do the testing and Counselling using modern testing kits and equipment.

The Cancer Awareness Outreach was jointly organised by Umaru Wali Foundation and  Sabil Charitable International Organization

In another development, Members of the organisation on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Zazzau and Patron of SCIO on the death of his brother and Nigeria’s ambassador to  Morocco, Ambassador Mansur Nuhu Bamali who died recently.
