NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: President Bola Tinubu sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Tinubu who arrived Nigeria from France, presided over the path-taking event at the Council Chambers on Friday, in Abuja.

Kekere-Ekun would be the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria although pending the confirmation by the Senate.

The new acting Chief Justice who is also the 2nd female jurist to occupy the office, took the oath of office and signed the oath register at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja on Friday.

Kekere-Ekun succeeds Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired recently, after attaining the mandatory age of 70 years.

He assumed office on June 27, 2022, and retired from office yesterday, Thursday, after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.
