NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The action of the Armed Forces in the fight against bandits and kidnapper’s across the country is commendable, and should continue, until the criminals are crushed completely.

The news that the Federal Government and State governments have formed a synergy to confront the criminals wherever they are hiding must be supported by members of the public, by helping with credible information on the perpetrators of evils amongst us.

The armed Forces should also unearth their sponsor’s including financial institutions alleged to be a route where ransom payment are wired.

The current unslaught on this criminals by both the Army, Air force, the Police and other security outfits have come to decimated the criminals, that they are now running helter skelter and been displaced.

The search light to get to the roots of the crime must now be focused on villages, where some of them are now hiding with the help of some unscrupulous among us. The authority will be on top of the situation, when their sponsor’s and finance are exposed and paraded and charge to a competent Court of law. Until when that is successfully done, the crimes of banditry and kidnapping will not go.

Those rag-tag arrested are mere agents of destruction, who are only used by the master and dumped thereafter. Recent reports of the success of the combined Armed Forces , the police and others, especially in the North West zone should be extended to other states, where cases of banditry, rustling and kidnapping are also on increase.

This is also the time for the government to prioritize and declare a total war on insecurity, and declare a state of emergency on the menace. Another area the Armed Forces should recommend for quick action by the Federal Government is the building of Strike Forces in trouble areas to monitor the movement of the criminals. This is also the period when all the villages must have a police station, fully funded by the Federal Government in support of State and local Governments.

When these are done, the recruitment into the armed Forces and Police and other organized and approved security outfits, become a better consideration. All these may help the country and then carry the war to their evil forest’s, and not waiting until they struck.

Traditional institution should not be ignore in this war, but must be supported to use their authority to know who and who entered their community, and be protected by the law of secrecy.

The synergy between the armed Forces and the Kaduna and Zamfara states government in fighting against the hoodlums, and taking the fight to their hideouts, should be emulated by other states, to nib the activities of these criminals in the bud. The support of the people have become paramount in this war, and only when all these are achieved, we shall all sleep with our two eyes closed.

Another area of concern is the promise during the immediate past federal government, that it has procures sophiscated equipments to fight the war on banditry, kidnapping and many others, through a tracking system by the Ministry of Digital Communication, and up till now, are yet to materialize. The equipments, will assist the security organisations to detect areas where ransom is been paid and location of phone calling and phone number for quick intervention.
