NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Kaduna business mogul, Dr. Tobi Bernard Thomas, has congratulated the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Kano state government and the Minister of Art, Culture and Tourism on the UNESCO’s recognition of the Kano Durbar Festival.

Dr. Thomas who is the Coordinator of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) Kaduna State Council asserted that the achievement is a testament to the Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative to promote cultural diversity.

In a statement at the weekend in Kaduna, the tourism expert, Dr. Thomas pledges FTAN’s support for sustainable tourism initiatives in Kaduna State and Northern Nigeria.

According to him in the statement, “the UNESCO recognition is a source of national pride, highlighting Nigeria’s significance on the global cultural landscape.”

This is just as the FTAN Coordinator commended the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hanatu Musa Musawa, for her tireless efforts in promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage, preserving cultural diversity, and promoting national unity.

While applauding the Northern State Governors’ Forum for their efforts in promoting regional development and cultural heritage, he urged them to invest more in the tourism sector.

“This UNESCO recognition presents a unique opportunity for Nigeria to drive economic growth, create jobs, and promote diverse cultural exchange,” Dr. Thomas emphasised.

Meanwhile, he equally urged the Federal Government to put more efforts in promoting cultural tourism, which he said, will undoubtedly enhanced Nigeria’s cultural tourism profile globally.
