NUJ Lauds Nomination Of Ex- CDS Gen.Christopher Musa As Defence Minister

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Nigeria Union of Journalists, ( NUJ) Kaduna state council, has commended President Bola Tinubu over the nomination of the immediate past CDS, General Christopher Musa, as the new Minister of Defence

NUJ noted with appreciation the deserving nature of the nomination owing to the commitment and longstanding pedigree of the nominee.

In a communique at the end of Congress of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Kaduna State Council on Tuesday at the state Secretariat Kaduna, jointly signed by NUJ Chairman, Comrade Abdulagafar Alabelewe, Secretary Comrade Santos Sanga, Committee Chairman Shindong Bala, Lola Seriki (Sec) and Bashir Haruna (Member)

the Union also appreciated Kaduna state government for the prompt action on schools closure amid insecurity threats.

” Congress appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the honor done to kaduna state with the nomination of Former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Christopher Gwabin Musa as Minister of Defense

” Congress express confidence that based on his track records, the Former CDS will not disappoint Nigeria in addressing security situation in the country.

” Congress Appreciates kaduna state for quickly rounding up of schools calendars and closing up primary and secondary schools as security measures to secure children and schools across the state from the spade of banditry and kidnapping.

” Congress commended a meeting of the 19 States governors who converged in the state to address very important issues affecting the 19 Northern States.

” Congress observed that The 19 Billion Naira which will be gathered from all the 19 northern States every month though on the high side, the governors should therefore adopt proper utilization measures and transparency.

” The Congress also calls on the Northern states Government to concentrate on building or establishment of strike force in strategic areas whereby even bandits incidents occurred the task force in strategic positions will contain it.

” Congress suggestes that The money should not be used to pacify bandits but put in proper use to eliminate the menace.

” The northern Governors should identify authentic vigilante and other volunteer security outfits to keep our Forest and community safe.

” Congress commended Kaduna State Government for Restoration of monthly sanitation across the state for hygiene purposes and environmental cleanliness.

” Congress observed that the kaduna state government have installed new pipes for portable water supply after spending huge amount of money, but expresses worries that there is no water flowing on the pipes.

” Congress calls on the Kaduna State Government to ensure strict adherence to the states development Plan and stop ongoing constructions near roads especially at Ibrahim Yakowa way in Chikun LGA.
Congress Commended the NUJ members for commitment to duty urging them to compliment government efforts especially in the fight against insecurity.

” Congress resolves to request the National Secretarite to consider the Immortalization of Colonel Tanko Ayuba the then governor of the state who was instrumental to actualization of NUJ Secretariat of Kaduna in 1984 so that his legacy will ever be remembered in the anals of Journalism of Kaduna State.

” Congress Urged members to be patient as the issue of full accreditation of the NUJ International Institute of Journalism is at a final stage for members to use the certificate for carrier progression in their various organizations and to also use it for induction as full members of the union.” the communique added.
