NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council in Katsina State has appointed veteran journalist and publisher of Kunnen Gari, Alhaji Muhammed Lawal Maikudi, as a member of its Directorate of Media and Publicity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Maikudi, a seasoned media practitioner, is the publisher of Kunnen Gari, a Kaduna-based online newspaper.
His appointment was conveyed in a letter dated October 14, 2026, signed by the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, FNIA, on behalf of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.
According to the letter, the appointment was in recognition of Maikudi’s professional experience, commitment and capacity to contribute meaningfully to the Council’s objectives.
The Council explained that the Directorate of Media and Publicity would play a strategic role in planning, coordinating and implementing campaign activities in collaboration with other directorates and relevant stakeholders.
It charged Maikudi to discharge his responsibilities with dedication, discipline, integrity and accountability while promoting teamwork and advancing the Council’s collective objectives.
The Directorate was inaugurated on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the Tinubu/Dikko Campaign Council Office, along Kano Expressway, Dandagoro, Katsina.
Maikudi’s appointment forms part of ongoing efforts by the Campaign Council to strengthen its media and publicity structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development comes as political parties and campaign organisations intensify preparations for the forthcoming elections across Nigeria.
