The Kaduna State Government has given 7 days notice to traders and occupants of the popular Kakuri, Market,in Kaduna south local government,to vacate their shops as the entire market has been earmarked for demolition.

The government said this is to allow it upgrade the market as part of its urban renewal programme in the state

In a statement signed by the Director General,Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority, (KASUPDA) Ismail Umaru Dikko,and placed at strategic positions at the market on Thursday,it Said, failure to comply with this directives will be at the occupant’s risk

” in line with the urban renewal programme by the Kaduna state government to upgrade Markets within the state you are hereby given seven (7) days from the date of receipt of this notice to vacate/ remove all your valuables from the site(Kakuri market)”

“Failure to comply with the above directives will leave the authority with no option than to remove/demolish the said structure at your expense according to the above mentioned law” the statement added
