A CASE STUDY OF THE GABONESE EXPERIENCE

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: It is not longer news that another martial music was heard in the Gabonese Capital Libreville today. The Military once again took over from the long misrule of ousted President Ali Bango claiming the usual thing that lack of good economy focus and high rate poverty marred by insecurity. This is the usual statement whenever the Military Juntas takes over the power by the barrel of the gun.

WHEN WILL CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT IN AFRICA LEARN?

Africa as a region is blessed with both human and Material resources yet their people are said to be living below a dollar per day. Some of these leaders manipulate the electoral processes to stay in power against the Constitutional provision of their countries. Gabon Republic is a recent example. How can a family be ruling a Country for 53 years? Is it a family affair or democratic affairs? The Bangos have bastardized the Democratic structure of the Country and an average Gabonese don’t have a hope tomorrow. It is so sad.
Historically, Late Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe was in Power since the country’s independence from the British in 1980 and refused to give room for a change in government until the Military Junta intervened and removed him by Force.
Former Zaire’s Late President Mombutu Seseko ruled the his Country for 33years until the Military Junta chased him out.
The Current Cameroonian President Paul Biya is over 40 years on the throne and is not willing to give way for another rule.
All these examples don’t give the current Civilian governments in Africa Lesson. How can Elections going on and the Incumbent Bango discovered that he can’t make it only to cancelled the Election which tax payers money and resources was used to prosecute the process. So sad.

STOLEN MANDATE TOO CAN PROPEL MILITARY COUP

When African Politicians buy their votes to gain power and are not willing to have a free, fair and credible Elections the Military Juntas will surely take over.
Furthermore, when Elections are marred by vote buying, Political thuggery and Politicians are living a flanbouyant life style.

CONCLUSION
For 53 years the Bangos have ruled Gabon and the Son Ali Bango 2009 to date no progress in the Central African Country. Femi Fani Kayode said expect more Military Coups in Francophone Countries And I also asserting that expect military Coups in Anglophone Countries too if we don’t get our electoral process right.
The Worst Civilian Government is better than the Best Military Government
