Clerics, NGO Task Stakeholders On Peaceful Kaduna Local Govt Election

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA– Ahead of Kaduna Sate local Government election scheduled for Saturday, some Christian – Muslim Clerics and a Non- governmental Organization ( NGO) in Kaduna have advocated for a peaceful Local government election from all stakeholders in the state.

While calling on citizens to equally pray for the country for Almighty God to bring an end to the insecurity challenge bedeviling peace and stability, education and every sector of human endeavor in the states

In an interview, Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry Sabon Tasha Kaduna, emphasized the need for peace and unity before, during and after the election.

According to him, the local government election is coming amid the Covid 19 pandemic, and insecurity challenges and high cost of living, hence the need to sensitize the general public on the need to fear God and promote religious tolerance,

Stressing that there is need for peaceful election in the state and that is why they started calling on the citizens to be law abiding while respecting Covid 19 protocols during the election.

He said, some clerics in the state have commenced prayers and fasting toward the success of the election,while appealing to the youths to shun political thuggery, drug abuses

He thanked the state government for providing large number of security forces for the election, as he called on citizens to be law abiding throughout the election period.

The Christian cleric also urged Imams and Pastors to pray for the Nigerian Military to succeed in all their missions.

Also another muslim cleric mallam Gambo Abdullahi Barnawa kaduna, urged kaduna youth to join hands toward spreading the message of peace and unity throughout the election season

Mallam Gambo said, peace is all we need throughout the election.

He noted that, there is need for every stakeholder to support the state government toward the success of the election

Adding that it is also the responsibility of every citizen of Nigeria to support the government toward promoting peace and unity irrespective of tribe, religion, cultural background

An NGO that is into promoting peace and unity in the North ( Zaman lafiya a Arewa) under the leadership of Comrade Mohammed Auwal has also appealed to the people of the state to equally support toward the peaceful conduct of the election
