NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: In an effort to further promote peaceful coexistence among Christians and Muslims in Nigeria, Rev. Danlami Gajere Pada, Pastor of Assemblies of God Church, Nariya, Kaduna and Founder of Kings International Worship Centre, has formally unveiled/ launched Sisters For Peace Ambassadors.

The Interfaith Women group/forum launched on Saturday, in maraban- Rido, Kaduna, attracted CAN/JNI leaders, traditional leaders, stakeholders among others.

Speaking to journalists during the event, the founder, Rev. Danlami Gajere said he was inspired to establish this organization as a result of how women are being neglected in terms of peace building in most societies, adding that the need to carry them along cannot be over emphasized.

“Whenever there is crisis anywhere, women are the people who suffer most, they become widows, they lose their children; and when peace process is being organized by government, by other organizations that people should come together to talk about how to resolve crisis and have lasting peace, women are usually left behind.

“I have been attending peace meetings, peace seminars and so on, but when you go you’ll see little is being done about women and I feel women have a vital role to play in having a lasting peace in our society; women have the capacity, women have the grace, women can be useful in having peace in our society today”.

“That is why prayerfully, I sought the face of God on how to go about involving women in peace issues, and this organization came to my mind, irrespective of their religion, tribe or where they come from”, he added.

Similarly, the JNI secretary, Kaduna State Chapter Mallam Ibrahim Kufena, thanked Rev. Gajere for such initiative, and posited that as a human being, no one has any reason to unlawfully take the life of a fellow human.

On his side, the CAN secretary, Rev. Caleb Ma’aji , said women must rise to their responsibilities of training good children noting that the era before now, witnessed more peace than what is obtainable today, and women were largely responsible for that.
