NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: A Kaduna-based journalist and immediate past Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, John Femi Adi, has revealed why he is donating his kidney to ailing daughter of Nigeria’s Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

He said his ‘agape decision’ is hinged  basically on ‘ God’s order in the Holy Bible’ on the need for love of neighbour as oneself.

He disclosed this via his verified Facebook page on Friday morning, thereby making him one of those who have publicly declared their readiness to help the Senator’s Daughter. Sonia Ekweremadu.

“I, Comrade John Femi Adi, a Kaduna-based journalist and former Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, hereby announce my ‘agape’ decision to donate one of my kidneys to Senator Ekweremadu’s beautiful daughter.

” I am doing this on God’s order in the Holy Bible to Love our neighbours as ourselves .“For further communications, reach me via my official phone number -: 08034210833”.

Ojinu Friday, 35 and a police officer, serving in Lagos, had earlier offered to donate one of their kidneys to her.

Also, a 24-year-old female skit maker, Annastasia Olamma, had earlier in the week offered to donate her kidney to save Sonia but later backtracked that her family was opposed to her doing so.

Recall that, Sonia had cried out in a recent Instagram post, announcing that she needed a kidney donor because she had been diagnosed with rare kidney disease, FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome.

The announcement came months after her parents were arrested in the United Kingdom and charged by the UK Metropolitan Police with conspiracy to facilitate the travel of another Nigerian, David Ukpo, for organ harvesting in a desperate bid to save their daughter, who is presently surviving on multiple weekly dialysis.
