Father Of Slain, ASP Shuaibu Malumfashi Seeks Justice

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: A veteran journalist, Mallam Sani Malumfashi has urged the Nigerian Police to arrest and prosecute all those culpable in the gruesome murder of his son,Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP. Shuaibu Sani Malumfashi 

The deceased was allegedly killed during a feud with a fellow officer last week wednesday, in Birnin Kebbi, where he was serving. Mallam Sani Malumfashi, who ia now seeking thorough investigatation, during a press briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists ,(NUJ) Kaduna on Friday, further alleged plans to cover up the case and the number of people involved in the killing.

He wondered why more than a week after the incident, the Police was yet to make any arrest and commenced investigation on the issue , which he claimed from all indication involved more than one person.

According to him, when his murdered son’s corpse was brought from Birnin Kebbi where he was serving to Kaduna for burial, they noticed deep cuts in the region of his heart while his neck was hanging when turned from all sides.

He explained that the fact that his son was wearing white clothing but blood did not stained beyond the area where he was stabbed clearly proved that the late ASP was held firmly by some other accomplices.

He submitted that his son was overpowered to prevent him from struggling and his neck triangulated , causing the breakages of the bones.

Speaking further the veteran journalist, saiid he will remain relentless in seeking justice over the murder, to prevent future occurrences.

Mallam Malumfanshi appealed to the Federal Government, Police Service commission, and the National Assembly to intervene in the case and save citizens from going through such painful experiences.

ASP Shuaibu Sani Malumfashi was reported to have been stabbed to death last week Wednesday by another ASP Abdullahi Garba, who later submitted himself for investigation.

However, the police in a statement by SP. Nafi’u Abubakar, ANIPR, Police Public Relations Officer, for Commissioner Of Police, Kebbi State Command condemned the incident. While condoling the bereaved family, said the erring officer has since been arrested and further investigation is ongoing, while assuring Nigerians that justice will be served accordingly.

” Consequently, the erring Police Officer, ASP Abdullahi Garba was immediately arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Birnin Kebbi, while the case has also been referred to Homicide section for a discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the ugly incident.

” In the light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP. Ahmed Magaji Kontagora has delegated a team of senior Police Officers to condole the family and friends of the deceased Police Officer and prays may the gentle soul of Asp Shu’aibu Sani Malunfashi rest in perfect peace.

” CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora also condemned the action exhibited by the erring Officer which goes contrary to teachings of the Police, Police Act and Regulations as well as other relevant laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

” Similarly, the CP hereby warns Officers and men of the Command to always live in peace with one another and report their grievances to the appropriate sections within the Force for redress instead of referring to self help. 

” Finally, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora also assures members of the public that, justice will be done in the investigation of the case and the outcome of the investigation will also be made public, please.” the statement added.
