NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Coalition of Civil Society groups,( CCSG), Kaduna chapter, has on Friday embarked on a rally in Kaduna to sensitize business owners and Nigerians on the need to deposit their old naira notes before the deadline of 31st January 2023.

It would be recalled that the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) redesigned two hundred naira, five hundred Naira and one thousand naira notes, which was put in use on the 15th of December 2022.

Ibrahim Zubairu, the spokesman of the coalition, stated that “they are here to advice business owners and the entire citizens on need to deposit their money before the said deadline to avoid putting their business in danger”. 

He further said, “banks have been given greenlight by the CBN to operate throughout the weekend in other to make available the new naira notes in circulation in the few coming weeks”.

Hajia Hauwa, one of the team leaders applauded the federal government and Central Bank of Nigeria for working round the clock to make sure the new Naira notes are in circulation.

She advised business owners to deposit their money before the deadline in other to safe their business from collapsing,  due to late remittance of the old currencies.

The Coalition of Civil Society groups also took their sensitization campaign to Muhammad Gumi market, Kaduna State polytechnic, Kaduna State University and Barnawa markets.
