Zazzau Emirate Set To Reconstruct Central Mosque, Months After Collapse

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Zazzau Emirate has announced its readiness to commence reconstruction work on the Zazzau Central Mosque, Zaria, Kaduna state.

Recall that a section of the Mosque collapsed in August, 2023, killing 8 persons, with several people injured.

A statement by the Media and Publicity Officer, Zazzau Emirate, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, on Sunday, further said funds worth 3 billion naira were raised during an appeal and more donations are still expected from spirited individuals to carryout the project.

” TO pave ways for the reconstruction of a befitting Jumma’at Mosque after the collapsed of a section of Emir Abdulkarim Central Mosque, Zaria in August, 2023 which resulted in the loss of Eight lives with score of other worshipers sustaining injuries, this afternoon demolition of the ceiled Mosque has commence.

” You may recalled that immediately after the incident, His Highness the Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamaĺli, CFR constituted a high powered Technical Committee of Experts and Professionals for the reconstruction of the collapsed Mosque. Membership of the committee is headed by former Vice-President, Sardaunan Zazzau, Architect Muhammadu Namadi Sambo.

” In October, 2023 at Shehu ‘Yar Adua Centre, Abuja a fund raising for the reconstruction of Mosque was launched with a whooping Three Billion Naira realised at the event, having the Chief Launcher and Chairman of BUA Groups Alhaji Abdus-samad Rabi’u donating Two Billion Naira.
