Eid- el- Kabir: Journalists For Peace Felicitate Muslim Ummah

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Journalists for Peace (JFP), a platform for Peace Journalism, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah and Nigerians on this year’s Eid- el- Kabir celebration.

JFP, while appreciating God for his mercies and the relative peace experienced in Kaduna state, despite several challenges, noted that ” It’s a sign of good things to come.”

The group also applauded the mending of ways by the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani and Senator Shehu Sani, describing such development, as healthy for democracy, peace and progress in the state and country.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Comrade Andrew Fadason, on Saturday in Kaduna, JFP, also lauded the patience, courage and resilience of Nigerians amidst security and economic challenges

” Journalists for Peace (JFP), a platform championing peace journalism, wish the entire Muslim Umma in Nigeria a very peaceful and memorable Sallah celebration. It is  a thing of gratitude to appreciate God’s mercies for the continued relative peace being experienced in Kaduna State despite enormous challenges,  This is a sign of good things to come

” JFP wishes to acknowledge the courage and sacrifices of Nigerians by bearing the effects of the present excruciating economic hardship, lingering insecurity and depression that has made
life a nightmare to them. It is encouraging that Nigerians are still hopeful and peaceful despite daunting challenges.

” We call on both the federal and state governments to reexamine some of their economic policies which have already failed after one year of trial and error.

” JFP also appreciates the commendable role the Nigerian media is playing as a vanguard and watchdog of society as well as encouraging peaceful co-existence, harmony and unity through their reportage. By encouraging tolerance and patience, the media continues to be in the frontline championing the cause of democracy, equity and justice even at great risk.

” Finally, JfP commends the mending of ways by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State and Senator Shehu Sani. Nothing can better foster democracy and development at this trying time than the coming together of these two political heavyweights to work together in the interest of the state. By setting their differences aside and working together, they will display leadership which will translate into peace and progress for the citizens of the state.” the statement added.
