NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The first annual SIGNIS Africa conference for Catholic Artistes and Entertainers Association of Nigeria, (CAEAN) and National Convention ended on Friday, In Nigeria.


The conference which held at the Capuchin Friary Retreat centre, Olomi Olunde, Ibadan, from 9th to 12th July, 2024, with the theme, ” Faith, Film, Intercultural Harmony In Africa ” attracted seasoned film Actors and producers across faiths.

In a Resolution at the end of the conference, signed by the National President CAEAN , Amb. Mrs. Edith Isidahomen and National Secretary, John Black Okeh, practitioners are urged to create positive stories to project the African cultural values and promote Intercultural harmony among other things.

The Resolutions In Full..

(1)Henceforth,
Catholic and Non-Catholic Producers who make religious films (be it Christian or Islam) should dwell on creating positive stories that will greatly promote and project African cultural values.

(2)Themes that promote our Catholic faith and doctrines should greatly be our focus and drive in our future programmes and productions.

(3)In our future religious film productions or readable material,
we should inculcate in any of them messages that greatly promote intercultural harmony in Africa.

(4)Constructive criticism is very necessary in fostering Intercultural Harmony any where in the world.

(5)Catholic and Christian Comedians who make skits and humour contents should henceforth dwell on humour productions that will not jeopardize our Catholic and other Christian and religious faith.

(6)Future film productions produced by any filmmaker within and outside the church or mosque should greatly promote good morals and family values in order to globally correct the current high rate of indecency both in our dressing and living and family lifestyle.

the new CAEAN slogan is
CAEAN forever……….Art and Entertainment for Christ.
