How Emir Of Gombe’s Name Used To Defraud Businessman

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: A resident of Gombe state, Umar Maikudi, has been accused of using the name of the Emir of Gombe, His Royal Highness, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar to defraud a businesman in the state.

One Ahmad Umar, a businessman who is already at large over threat to life alleged that his properties which include house, shop and a plot of land have been constificated by the said Maikudi who said that the actions were carried out on the instruction of the Emir.

According to the victim (Umar), the confiscated house worth 15 million naira, the handsets shop worth 30 million, while the plot of land was said to be 5 million naira, while the seized properties were said to be 50 million naira in all.

In a document made available CN-TV, Ahmad Umar collected the sum of 12 million naira as loan from Umar Maikudi without any agreement of interest, “but later, he (Maikudi) connected me with someone whom I used to speak with on phone.

” The person always claiming to be the Emir of Gombe, and that was when the issue of interest came in. And in the course of all these, 6% interest (fifty thousand naira on each million), was falsefully imposed on me,” Umar alleged.

Maikudi who is a resident of Investment Tumfure Quarters claimed that the said money belongs to the Emir of Gombe.

Umar told CN-TV that: ” As I was meeting up with the interest rate, I collected another money until the money reached 114 million naira, and then Maikudi increased the interest rate to 10% per month, claiming that, that was the instruction allegelly giving by the Emir.

Umar also alleged that the actions of Maikudi, were unjust and amounting to financial exploitation, saying that he had already repaid more than his initial investment of 12 million naira he earlier borrowed.
