Kauru Community Welcomes New Road Construction, Says Commuters To Smile Soon

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Kauru Local Government Development Association, has on Sunday Commended the Construction of a new road in the LGA, by the state government adding that the challenges faced by commuters will soon be a thing of the past.

The association further lamented the challenges of poor road networks in the area, due at abandonment by successive governments.

KCDA however hoped that”In no distant time we will have cause to smile, our dreams will soon come to reality”.

This was disclosed in a press briefing addressed by the Chairman of Kauru Local Government Community Development Association, Dr Billy Ishaya La’ah on Sunday in Kaduna.

“the major challenge faced by the people is poor road networks, and this has made it difficult for the communities to access essential services, markets and economic opportunities”

“the Kauru-Kwassam-Geshere-Mariri road is the major and only road that link communities across the three chiefdoms of the local government area. The road starts from Pambeguwa leading to Kauru town, the local government secretariat and the seat of Kauru Emirate council to Kumana Chiefdom through Mariri in Lere LGA, to Chawai Chiefdom”, he added.

Dr La’ah also lamented on the abandonment of the road construction by successive government

“The Kauru-Kwassam- Geshere to Mariri road, has been a major concern and a nightmare to the people of the area and all efforts by successive governments to construct the road has not yielded any fruitful result”.

“At a moment, there is nothing that will gladden the hearts of the majority of the people of Kauru LGA like receiving the news of this road construction. This is because good road connectivity plays a vital role in poverty reduction, creating economic opportunities and ease transportation”.

Dr Billy La’ah gave his assurance that the road will be fixed in no distant time.

“As I speak to you now, it is our hope that in no distant time, we the people of Kauru LGA will have every cause to smile as our dream and long expectation would soon come true”.

The Association also applauded Kaduna state government under the amiable leadership of Senator Uba Sani for the ongoing construction of Pambegua to Kauru road.

“We also acknowledged the commitment of the Kaduna state Government for the ongoing Pambegua to Kauru road project, it is our sincere hope that when this project is completed, Kauru town, the headquaters of the LGA would wear a new look. However, with the Federal Government commitment to construct the Kwassam to Mariri axis of the road, we wish to appeal for the extention of the project from Kauru town to Kwassam”

In a development the leadership of Southern Kaduna Community Development Associations CDAs, under the leadership of Mr. Bature Likoro, recently held a meeting with the Senator Representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Abuja, Distinguished Senator Sunday Marshal Katung to thank him on the achievement so far regarding the development of the zone, and also table other concerns as the saying goes Oliver Twist always ask for more, among which was Kwassam-Gashere to Mariri road project which has been abandoned.

“Again, we the Kauru Local Government CDAs Forum, would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the distinguished Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for his visionary leadership and commitment to the development of our LGA. His efforts have demonstrated a deep understanding of our needs and a willingness to address them.

” However, his tireless efforts in driving development in our LGA and the entire Southern Kaduna, would never go unrewarded as we look forward for continue collaboration and progress to build a brighter future for the people of Kauru.”

Responding to questions from Journalists, Dr Billy Ishaya La’ah stated that the Kauru Local Government Community Development will continue to lobby and support the Government in other to see to the development of Kauru local government Area and the state at large.
