I Want To Bring APC Back To its Rightful Place- Jamoh

…Says, he’s under pressure to contest for Senate

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA; The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress,( APC) in Kaduna State, Dr Bashir Jamoh, has assured of his determination to restore the lost glory of the party in the state  and country.

The Former NIMASA boss, maintained that with his return into partisan politics after leaving office, and calls for him to contest the Senatorial seat in 2027, he hopes to bring to fore his experience and take the party to its rightful place via building public trust.

He made this known during a Press Conference on Thursday at the NUJ Press Centre Kaduna, where further affirmed the importance of the media in today’s democracy, “the media is a pillar for reshaping the issue of democracy and leadership, so there is no how the country can develop without the media” he added. 

Dr Bashir, who was a former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), said the APC where he belongs is facing a lot of stagnation. 

“We are bearly 10 days to the bye election in Kaduna State for State House of Assembly and also federal Constituency but the party where I belong is facing a lot of stagnation,  when I was in office, I’m faced with day to day running of NIMASA but now that I am free I want to be partisan so as to bring back the party to it rightul place” he said 

According to him,  the public have now lost trust of the party over time. ” You will agree with now that the public opinion and what use to be before about the All Progressives Congress, the narrative has changed over time, it is time to bring back that public trust of the party into the right direction”.

He called on each party member to put hands on deck to protect and build the party.  ” I have decided to go back to my zone, with my supporters to address party issues as well as the public opinion and let us see what we can contribute and correct before the bye election come 16 August, I have no doubt that APC remain the party to beat not only in Kaduna State but the entire country”.

Dr Bashir Jamoh who is from zone one stated that they have visited 8 local Government Areas in the Zone to address the party executives as well as the party loyalists. 

” We have visited all the eight local government areas in zone one to address the party executives and loyalists on the issues effecting the party, we can’t sit down and allow people spoil the image of our dear party”. 

He stated that they are through with the visit in zone one, that they are going to brief the Governor on the outcome of the visit and also table complaints of the people at the local government and ward levels. 

Dr Bashir a onetime contestant for the Governorship position in 2023, further said he’s being pressured by his people to  contest for the Senatorial position come 2027.

“After a lot of pressure from my people to contest for the Senatorial seat,  I have written a letter to my party showing my interest though I have some reservation, and I will make it public when the time is right” he said.

He also called on all party members and executives to remain loyal to the party and not to be distracted. 

” Information that some members  changing party from APC to other parties, it is all propaganda, let us listen to all complaints from party members so that we can put our house in other and build trust and confidence of people in the period of this electioneering campaign for the forthcoming bye election and also the 2027 general election”

Dr Bashir is confident that the All Progressive Congress APC will emerge victorious in all the position of the August 16 bye election, describing the APC as a field Marshall in the Political arena.
