NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Musawah Model Movement (MMM) has observed with deep concern recent calls by certain individuals for the removal of His Excellency, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.), as the Honourable Minister of Defence.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Musawah Model Movement, Prince Natty Auta on Thursday.

” We categorically condemn these calls and urge the individuals concerned to desist from dragging the good name and impeccable track record of our Principal into partisan politics and religious controversy.

” General Christopher Gwabin Musa has consistently demonstrated pragmatic, innovative, professional, and disciplined leadership throughout his distinguished career. When he served as Theatre Commander and Chief of Defence Staff, Nigerians from all parts of the country, irrespective of tribe, religion, region, or political affiliation, rallied in support of his effective and intelligence-driven approach to combating insecurity. His record speaks for itself: a soldier and strategist who placed national interest above personal or sectional considerations.

” Now that he occupies a policy-making position at the helm of the Ministry of Defence, no longer as a field commander but as a strategic leader guiding national security policy, what our Principal requires is collective prayer, goodwill, and constructive support for his success, not antagonism or baseless calls for his removal. The same Nigerians who applauded his resolve in the theatre of operations should extend the same confidence and support to his current role.

” While every citizen has the constitutional right to express an opinion, those calling for the removal of General Musa should direct their grievances toward individuals or institutions known to lack political will or a track record of commitment to tackling insecurity, not toward a leader whose willingness, competence, capacity, discipline, professionalism, integrity, and humility are nationally acknowledged.

” The Musawah Model Movement remains steadfast in its commitment to our role model, General Christopher Gwabin Musa. We will continue to promote his exemplary leadership as a living model for a secure, prosperous, and united Nigeria, a nation where the son of nobody can become somebody based on character, competence, capacity, discipline, professionalism, integrity, and humility, and not on connections, tribe, religion, or partisan favour.

” We call on all Nigerians of goodwill to reject divisive rhetoric, support our national security leadership, and pray for the success of General Musa and the Ministry of Defense in delivering lasting peace and stability.” the Statement added.
