RCCG Pastor Urges Nigerians To Stay Healthy, Participate In Democracy

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Zonal Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Salvation Provincial Headquarters, Pastor Robert Odiboh-Oriabure, has urged Nigerians, particularly men, to make regular medical check-ups a priority in order to remain healthy and productive in serving both God and humanity.

Pastor Odiboh-Oriabure made the call during the Excellent Men Thanksgiving and Medical Outreach organised by the church, where hundreds of men benefited from free health screening and spiritual empowerment.

He stressed that good health is essential for every individual to effectively discharge family, professional, and spiritual responsibilities, noting that many health challenges can be prevented or properly managed through early diagnosis.

According to him, many people only visit hospitals when they become seriously ill, a habit he described as dangerous and capable of leading to avoidable complications and deaths.

The cleric encouraged men to cultivate the habit of undergoing routine medical examinations, regardless of how healthy they may appear, saying prevention remains better and less expensive than treatment.

Pastor Odiboh-Oriabure explained that maintaining good health enables individuals to serve God faithfully, provide for their families, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

He further noted that the church remains committed not only to the spiritual growth of its members but also to promoting their physical well-being through regular health awareness programmes and medical outreaches.

Speaking on national issues, the RCCG pastor called on Christians across the country to participate actively in the democratic process by registering as voters and obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

He said responsible citizens have a duty to elect credible leaders who will promote justice, peace, accountability, and sustainable development in the country.

Pastor Odiboh-Oriabure urged eligible Nigerians who are yet to register to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise, emphasizing that every vote has the potential to shape the future of the nation.

He maintained that Christians should not remain indifferent to governance but should actively participate in choosing leaders who possess integrity, competence, and the fear of God.

The pastor also encouraged believers to continue praying for Nigeria, its leaders, and the success of future elections, while playing their civic responsibilities peacefully and lawfully.

Highlights of the outreach included free medical consultations, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, health counseling, and other basic medical services provided by qualified healthcare professionals.

Special prayers were also offered for the men, their families, businesses, careers, and divine wisdom to succeed in all their endeavors and become positive influences in society.

Participants expressed appreciation to the church for combining spiritual ministration with healthcare services, describing the initiative as timely and impactful in promoting healthy living, responsible citizenship, and total well-being
