NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Senior Pastor and Founder of Covenant Nations, Lagos, Pastor Poju Oyemade, has urged Christians to seek divine wisdom and revelation to recognise God’s direction, insisting that what may appear to be darkness or defeat could become an opportunity for victory through God’s intervention.
Oyemade gave the admonition on Thursday while ministering at the ongoing 22nd International Prophetic Prayer Conference organised by the Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
Speaking on seven principles of prevailing prayer, which he said could help believers reposition themselves for the move of the Holy Spirit in the land, the cleric declared that God is capable of bringing victory out of situations people consider hopeless.
“God is a God who commanded light to shine out of darkness and brings victory out of what you consider as defeat,” he said.
Drawing inspiration from the Book of Ephesians, Oyemade referenced Paul’s prayer that God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, would give believers the spirit of wisdom and revelation, and enlighten the eyes of their understanding.
He explained that God’s mercies manifest in different dimensions, noting that one of the significant ways God demonstrates His mercy is by opening the eyes of His people to see beyond their immediate circumstances.
According to him, every situation perceived as darkness may contain an opportunity for divine intervention, if believers are able to discern what God is doing.
He therefore encouraged Christians to embrace the prophetic dimension of their relationship with God, explaining that God’s method of intervention today may differ from how He chooses to move in their lives tomorrow.
Oyemade further admonished believers not to conclude that a situation is hopeless when they encounter what appears to be a dead end, but rather seek God to open their eyes to recognise what He has already provided.
In a related development, the vision pioneer of Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, during a special session dedicated to the rededication and prayers for traditional rulers and the land, called on Christian traditional leaders to build a legacy of faith and establish an alternative for Christ through those who would succeed them.
He urged the traditional rulers to ensure that their leadership creates a lasting foundation for God’s work beyond their reign.
Apostle Kure also prayed for God to lift the burdens and responsibilities traditional rulers across Northern Nigeria carry on behalf of their people, particularly in the quest for peace and stability.
Responding on behalf of the Northern Christian Traditional Leaders Forum, its Vice Chairman, the Kpop Gwong, Col. Paul Zakka Nyom (rtd.), thanked Apostle Kure for inviting the traditional rulers and interceding for them and the restoration of peace across Northern Nigeria.
Nyom reminded his colleagues that they must continually see themselves as servants of God while administering their respective kingdoms.
He said traditional leadership should be exercised with a sense of responsibility, humility and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The traditional rulers, in their response, pledged to remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them and to continue providing leadership in their respective communities.
The session also featured special prayers for Southern Kaduna, seeking divine direction for the people ahead of the forthcoming general elections, particularly to enable them to make informed decisions and participate in a peaceful electoral process.
Prayers were equally offered for God’s intervention in the affairs of the region, the restoration of peace and the strengthening of traditional institutions across Northern Nigeria.
