NEWSDAILYNIGERIA – The Senior Pastor of Universal Gospel Apostolic Church, Kakuri, Pastor Joseph Ekundayo Jolaoluwa, has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer for their leaders and the country to attain its God-given potential.

During a special Christmas Carol service held at the church premises on Sunday, Pastor Jolaoluwa prayed for those experiencing hardship, asking for divine intervention during the festive season.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, the cleric explained that the carol serves as a reminder of Christ’s mission on earth.

“The carol reminds us why Christ came. It is a time to appreciate God for the gift of His Son—a season for sharing love, forgiveness, reconciliation, and praise,” he said.

“My message to Nigerians is that God has a good plan for this country. We need to be united now more than ever before.”

He further encouraged citizens to look forward with hope: “I advise all Nigerians to forgive one another, stay focused, and pray for the President and our leaders.”

Pastor Jolaoluwa also commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani.

“I appreciate the President’s direction and his recent cabinet adjustments aimed at putting the nation in order,” Jolaoluwa stated. “I also applaud Governor Uba Sani for his great work in fostering unity within Kaduna State.”

Concluding with a prayer for the nation, he added:

“I pray for everyone passing through hardship in this critical period. May God intervene, grant them peace, and raise helpers for them. I pray that everyone ends this year with praise.” he reiterated.

Other church leaders shared their thoughts on the spiritual impact of the event. Elder Zakaria Anigilaje praised the children’s performances, noting that it offered hope for the future. “Our goal is to raise these children in the Word of God and ensure they progress in their education for His glory,” he said, urging the faithful to celebrate Christmas according to God’s will.

Similarly, Overseer James Olaoye highlighted on the spiritual and educational aspect of the program, noting how the Bible quiz encouraged children to grow in their knowledge of Christ. “Jesus has come as Emmanuel—God with us—to save us from our sins. That is the joy behind celebrating His birth,” he said.

The event also featured a Bible Quiz, where Miss Victory Kenneth, a Primary 4 pupil, emerged as a star winner. “I feel very good,” she said. “My advice to other children is to try your best to study, respect your parents and elders, and stay focused” she said.
