Says, tenure for newly elected excos now 4 years single tenure

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA – The Archbishop of Kaduna Most Rev. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, has announced the dissolution of all Laity Councils of Parishes, Pastoral areas,Commissions and others in the Archdiocese of Kaduna and has further directed for the formation of caretaker committees.
He however said the tenure of those who would be elected after the two months period of the caretaker committee that would be constituted, will this time around serve for a single term of 4 years
He disclosed this in his address during the 2021 Kaduna Archdiocesan General Assembly on Thursday at the Catholic Social Centre, Kaduna,where he further commended the outgoing council members for their contribution within the period of service.
According to him, the Archdiocese agreed to extend the tenure of the present PPC councils which elapse last year to this year’s General Assembly ” in order not to create a constitutional crises given our resolved to harmonise the tenure of our councils with the directive of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria “
He then declared ” l herewith announce the dissolution of parish pastoral/Pastoral Area Councils (PPCs and PACs) Commissions(excepting Chaplains) leadership of all concerned lay church church societies/ associations and direct the formation of care-takers committees in the Archdiocese of Kaduna with effect from May 31,2021″
He further directed that all Lay Societies/ Associations are to conduct elections between June and July, 2021 to elect their representatives to the Parish Pastoral council ( PPC)
Adding that, the election of the Parish officers are to be conducted and inaugurated in August/September, 2021,
He pointed out that, ” All Elections are to be conducted strictly in accordance with the provisions of Archdiocesan Pastoral Constitution”
