NEWSDAILYNIGERIA– Speakers and Participants at a joint meeting of Kujama community and their Mararaban-Rido counterpart of Chikun LGA, organized by the Zaman Tare project to mark the 2021 international Day of Peace in Kaduna have commended the Peace initiatives of Zaman Tare.

The meeting being the last of the 3 day tour/visits to 3 selected local governments in the state, was held at Mararaban Rido community on Wednesday, attracting Religious, traditional, Men, Women and youths from across the two communities.

Speaking, the Field Officer, Zaman Tare, Mr Innocent Okechukwu Madukwe, said ” we are here today to host Kujama and Mararaban Rido, under Chikun local government and tomorrow we will also proceed to Kaduna north local government where we will be having the grand finale”

He said at the grand finale scheduled to hold at the Kaduna State University, KASU, ” where all the communities will come together with the stakeholders and the state executive council and we are hoping that the Governor and every other interested personalities would be in attendance” he added

According to him, the 3-Day visit to local government communities ” has been very impactful looking at the theme’ Recovery better for an equitable and sustainable World ” shows that we must learn to stay together to be able to sustain development.

” we also found that the integration has increased where Christians and Muslims sit down and truly interact freely, like in Mararaban Rido, you find the Muslims coming back, a kind of reintegration has started reoccurring ” he reiterated

Similarly, the Sarki/Chief of Kujama, represented by the Dangaladima Kujama, Chief Simon Ibrahim, said he is highly impressed with the program today and that it should mostly dedicated to the youths who are mostly found wanting on what has been discussed,

” I will like us to coordinate the youths and invite them more in future events, because they are in the centre of most ills in our society adding that ” they don’t lack educational knowledge, but lack interreligious and intercultural tolerance, so am very happy with the outcome of the programme by Zaman Tare ” he stressed

In the same vein, Imam Yusau Musa Kujama, while appreciating the Peace interventions of Zaman Tare, described the meeting as encouraging adding that he has gathered the many landmark projects carried out by the group for Peace full coexistence and tolerance and that it should be sustained.

According to him, they have benefitted a lot “the outcome of today’s meeting shows that we are beginning to imbibe the message of Peace and tolerance, because we have achieved more and surmounted our challenges as he is happy that through this project we can be able to benefit on issues of Peace.

On his part, chairman, Zaman Tare, Mararaban Rico, Mr Paul A. Kasuwa, said the occasion is ” truly interesting, it is even greater than that of last year, they brought us together to meet with the Kujama community to reunite, interact and we are able share ideas and progress

While appreciating the vision of Zaman Tare, he prayed that that God will keep it going adding that the songs, art exhibition and drama were able to simplify and conveyed the message of peace, while assuring to stepdown the event in their community.

On her part, the Women leader, Mararaban Rido, Juliana Emmanuel, stated that, the meeting has been able to show and reveal the need and importance of living together in peace with one another, especially now that we just had a meeting between the two communities and we learned a lot of things that if we continue with them we will enjoy Peace

” and from the stage performances, the exhibition, drama and musical presentation, we understand that rumour mongering is one of the issues causing division and crisis, but called for people to always verify their information before sharing them on their social media”

Lending his voice, the Youth leader, Zaman Tare from Kujama, Mr Matthew Dauda, said ” I want to call on my fellow youths to rise above board to do the right to rebirth our country Nigeria from the ills it is facing and desist from creating more problems, according to him, there’s nothing like Peace hence for all, parents, leaders and youths to rise and build a new Nigeria.

One of the artists and one of the beneficiaries of the grant by Zaman Tare, Mr George Candidus Amos aka GCA, said it’s a privilege to be one of those given the grant. He further said the 2 songs he presented are on the ills of rumours/ fakenews in the social media and the other on the need to live together, despite our religious and cultural diversities among other things.

Recall that, ZAMAN TARE is a project of Caritas Nigeria, Funded by European Union, (EU) in partnership with CAFOD and DREP, and it is presently operating in Kaduna and Jos in Nigeria and Niger Republic.
