NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The National President Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma has expressed total dissatisfaction over the extension of ASUU warning strike for additional two months which according to him, would have devastating implication to the educational sector across the 36 states in the country.

The association wants representatives of states and Federal House of assembly to equally intervene into the matter which involve bring back both the two parties to dialoque round table.

While calling on religious leaders and traditional title holders with other educational stakeholders, Non governmental organizations (NGO) UNICEF, UNESCO in the country to equally appeal to both Asuu and Federal toward bringing an end to the continuous strike .

Danjuma said, we were hoping that at the end of the one month warning strike by ASUU that both government and the ASUU would have come to an agreement ,but It’s really unfortunate that they are going on with the strike which we strongly believe would  affect our students and the standard of education across the country.

He said, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) has extended its warning strike for another two months adding that, the decision to extend the strike was taken at the union’s National Executive Council, NEC meeting which was held last night at in Abuja

According to him, any adding months at home would have a serious consequences to the educational sector including Economy and agriculture,

“we dont want our boys back home, we prapare seeing dialoque between the two parties that would resolve the strike”:

PTA therefore insist that both the ASUU and the representatives  of the federal government must go back to the dialoque table and resolve their problems, in order to keep our students and teachers at school,

The strike comes amidst increase  of prices of foodstuff, high cost of petroleum and general insecurity challenges bedeveling peace stability in the country,

“we don’t want our children to spend 3 month at home because of strike,”

“we are begging on the federal government to as a matter of urgency go back and resolve their problems with ASUU “

Further more PTA appealed To ASUU to please and please rethink over the issues, while calling on federal government to listen to their demands, in order to save our children from wasting more time at home

Adding. that not every parents in the country would afford taking his child to abroad or private university for studies ,hence the need for both Federal government and ASUU to help towards going back to the dialoque table so as to save the Situation

The PTA National President still beg federal government to rescue all the abducted school students that are still in bandits and other terrorists’ Captivity

“Calling for total protection of all boarding schools to halt activities of bandits, Boko haram, kidnappers causing a serious setback to our educational system”
