Alleged Hate Speech : Waziri Kumo Exonerates Babachir, Insists Audio Handiwork Of Detractors

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Former Personal Assistant to President on Special Duties , Hon. Umar Waziri Kumo has debunked a hate speech audio against Muslims allegedly credited to former Secretary to Government of the Federation , Lawal Babachir , saying it was the handiwork of mischief makers .

Kumo , in a press statement declared that Babachir had been a friend to muslims whom he noted the former SGF held in high esteem .

He said the audio must have been made by jittery detractors to harm political fortunes of Babachir by causing bad blood between him and Muslim faithful , especially those in the Northern part of Nigeria .

” Babachir would never make such inflammatory remarks about muslims because he has never been a religious bigot all his life .

” A man who has more muslim friends and acquaintances than christians cannot be said to be hater of muslims whom he has strong political, business and personal relationship with .

” I strongly believe some people are out there to eclipse the ever rising political image of the former SGF , particularly now that he’s spearheading Tinubu’s presidential aspiration in the North and other parts of the country.

” Babachir has been conferred with various Chieftaincy titles by muslim communities , including the Jagaban Akko in Gombe state in recognition of his service to advancement of majority muslim areas.

” Babachir sponsors scores of muslims to Hajj to pray for peace , progress and development of Nigeria on annual basis .

” How can a bigot and hater of muslims do all these ? ” He inquired .

Kumo expressed optimism that individuals behind the libelous audio would be unmasked soon .

” You can’t tarnish the image of a good man and expect to go scot-free without a consequence.

” Providence shall be kind to Babachir by exposing the elements behind this deadly plot capable of causing religious friction at this critical and he challenging period in our history , ” he assured .
