NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: As children born with silver spoon in their month and those from rich homes and families gathered together in city centers in the commemoration of the 27th May 2022, children’s day celebration, the under privileged ones were also not completely left out in catching fun.

Indeed, the under privileged children were not only catching fun they were also socially treated to a dancing and parting exclusively with foods in an area knowns as Biji community in Gonin Gora, Chikun LGA of Kaduna state, courtesy of Women Alliance for Purposeful Leadership Foundation, otherwise known as WAFPL.

Provisions were also made for take away package as most of the children went back home with foods full of joy and excitement after marking the children’s day in ground style in the community located along Kaduna – Abuja highway.


Speaking to journalists shortly after the cerebration, the founder of WAFPL Mrs Catherine Williams represented by the Kaduna state coordinator Mrs Gormwa Solomon Gotus said they celebrated the children’s day with over 100 less privileged children randomly selected from streets.

The founder said why the children of the rich are there cerebrating the children’s day in amusement parks, Ganji gate, Bambino, fathers parks amongst other luxury places, WAFPL has chosen to organized foods and music party for under privileged children to dance and enjoyed themselves, as part of the objective of the foundation.

According to her, when less privileged children are accorded such opportunity, as you could’ve seen, they feel belonged and happy.

The chief executive officer (CEO) of the foundation who reside in USA, according to the coordinator sent money to cook and cerebrate with the less privileged children and put smile on their face.


“You can see, we just pick them from streets to feel the impact on the children’s day. The foundation is just about six months old but has done similar things previously by providing foods and buy provisions for orphanage in Kaduna as part of touching lives.

The topic of this year’s cerebration is “Take it to the street”, she said, advising other privileged Nigerians to assist the less and under privileged children to make the world a better place for all.

Parents, children and members of the foundation including Mrs Cordelia D. Baba, Johnson Abiodu, Rose. M, and Alheri Zion, who spoke in an interview described the gesture as a worthy course and prayed God almighty to bless the organizers to do more and never lack.


They also appreciated the organizer for providing the platform for reaching out to the less privileged children to cerebrate the day and danced with happiness and joy.
