NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The first phase of the multi- million naira ultramodern , K- Medics Diagnostics center, has been commissioned on Thursday in Kaduna, amid several commendations by guests and speakers among others.

The center is said to be the first of its kind in the state and poised in offering indept diagnostic services while ending the nightmares of bad diagnosis and the medical tourism abroad among others.

Speaking, the Chairman, K- Medics, Mr Ikechukwu Akanisi, said “We are here today to commission the first phase of our ultra modern diagnostic center, set up with comprehensive diagnostic facilities that can do both research and diagnostic services, noting that with the commissioning of the first phase today “we working on making the second phase ready in the shortest possible time”

Akanisi said, what informed the idea of a center is both passion for humanity and loving memories of his late father who unfortunately, was a victim of wrong diagnosis, ” For me it’s really a passion and unfortunately for me, my dad was wrongly diagnosed and one of the problems we had is that we went to so many hospitals without knowing the real cause of the problem and until we travelled out of the country”

While lamenting the magnitude of the loss of a Dad, boss, mentor, though paiinful. spurred him “and I prayed that if God gives me the opportunity that I will  be able to set up a diagnostic center that will help others to know their problems and find the solutions and I thank God that this has become a reality today we have set up the first ultramodern diagnostic Center in Kaduna that takes care of a lot of problems”

According to him, K -Medics Diagnostics center is unique, “we now have real time state of the art equipment that we do real indept analysis  that will reveal the real problem so that one can be properly  treated on the solution” adding ” we are doing a lot like no other here in Kaduna; so what our center is having is actually poised to provide  an indept diagnostic services”

He further noted that though the project cost hundreds of million, the essence is humanity as no amount of money can equate  life, “so we feel that no matter how much we spend we carried on with the project, we know, it will not be easy and for every life we save we are happy because the purpose for establishiing the centre has been achieved” 

” I feel very happy, because it’s like a dream come true, now I know that this journey we started, this vision we had, has come to reality, and I really thank God for that” he reiterated

The Deputy speaker of Kaduna house of Assembly, Rt Hon Isaac Auta, represented,, by the PPS Pastor Zakka Buzu, applauded the initiative, as timely and apt, while encouraging medical Doctors to use the centre optimally.

Earlier, the Hon Commissioner for Health, Kaduna state, Hajia Amina Mohammed, Baloni, represented by the Director Medical services, Dr. Gajere G. Jonathan, said the ministry is not unaware of the importance of  the diagnostic centre in the state, adding that diagnosis is key to every Doctor

He said, the center is  laudable initiative for the people of the state and country at large, ” what we are doing today is a wonderful development” he added. While appealing to the founder and initiator to also extend his corporate social responsibility to the govt, he called on all communities to utilize the facility provided.properly.

Similarly the Hakimi Makera, Alhaji Shehu Tijani ciroma, while expressing his happiness, and commending the commissioning of the edifice said the diagnostic aspect in healthcare delivery in Nigeria is what’s lacking and sometimes wrongly applied, but noted however, that with the centre in his domain, “we are going to patronize this and inform our people to also patronize instead of going out for such services elsewhere.” he stressed

On his part, the representative of the President General Igbo Community Welfare Association (ICWA) Kaduna, Barrister Vitus Azuka Berthram Ewuzie, eulogized the initiator, as a worthy and dependable son of Ndigbo, whose philantropic landmarks are visibly imparting humanity through his several interventions, one of such, is the donation of a dialysis center to St. Gerard’s hospital, among others.

The Medical Director of the centre, Dr Ndukuba Nwachukwu, said the centre was established  to ensure that, we begin to do the right  thing by doing right diagnosis before treatment adding that people should do more of check ups, not until there’s a problem and not when things have gone bad. He said the centre will among others offer different kinds of ultrasound services, diagonise chronic illnesses before the get bad and inredeemable.

He maintained that the centre exists basically to raise the bar in diagnostic services in Kaduna and Nigeria while urging others to key in to enhance diagnostic services. adding that an ultramodern lab, fully automated, molecular labs , reseach labs for the academia/ continuous learning among other services are all handy and available.

In his remarks, a surgeon,  Dr Samaila Haruna, also lauded the initiative on the behalf of the medical Doctors in the state, pointing out that the centre needs certain people especially, Doctors, to succeed, ” K- Medics, you need Doctors”, he said. According to him, the centre will go a long way to end medical tourism, While harping on maintenance of the facility, he encouraged researchers to utilize the place to sustain the vision of the founders.

Also a Medical expert,, Dr. Akindele Owolabi of Mends specialist hospital, while lending his voice commended the efforts of the initiators noting that diagnosis today is scientifically based to get the best result that are accurate, while encouraging the people to take advantage of the facility for the good of all and sundry.
