NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will no doubt go down in history, as one with many policies that are good, if given the time, but failed to consider the plights of ordinary citizens, before they materialize. Many of the problems of the government of the day is the formulation of policy and put it on the people, without looking deeply into the aftermath.

The increase of petrol (PMS) yesterday was actually a wrong idea, looking at the current problems the citizens are going through, without any hope in sight. Whatever are the reasons for the increase cannot convince any average citizen, that the government and its agency know the pause of the people. The NNPC that told the nation that a completion of Dangote Refinery will bring relief to the citizens, as we are hoping that, it will crash the monopoly of those that are cheating the people with importation of the products. We are hearing now that agreement has failed and the people must suffer for it.

This action of both parties must be investigated, to find out where the agreement was violated. The Federal Government approved the sales of crude to the Dangote Refinery in local currency, for us to benefit from the project. If the Refinery failed to make petrol available at affordable price by members of the public, he should be made to return the difference in the transaction in dollars. The people are tired of the government promise of reviving the status of the country, for a better tomorrow, as many people have loose hope.

The policy makers in this Government have failed to realize that they are bound to give accounts here and hereafter, they posed threat to the existence of human dignity, due to their policy without any human face. The general believe is that some of the policies of government is an affront and mockery of the populace. This Government cannot feign ignorance of the happenings in the society today, and its left for them to remember history is the best teacher. They should know that policies are made for the people and not the people made for policies, and therefore should consider how to relax some of them for Nigerians to breathe. Those saddled with the responsibility of drawing up policies should put first the people, before dishing them out. They should know how to address and convinced the President on the gains, both short and long term. It has become important to say that no dead person can enjoy a reformation, when, policies that came out from those who promise reform’s are responsible for quick deaths. Whatever are the commitment of this administration that will turn things around for better, the citizens wellbeing must be paramount.

The truth of the matter, is that, the people have waited so long for the renew hope, and they are having other thoughts. Many of the policies have failed to put the people first, hence, they are starting to loose interest. This increase in the PMS will add to the problems of the people, if the government failed to act on time and reduce the pump price. It is an increase in almost every needs of the citizens, and it unacceptable. Those in the petroleum sector have taken the people’s magnanimity for weakness and they should be called to order. The believe in the country, is that, if petrol PMS price is reduced, available and avoidable, the prices of other commodities will crash.
And finally, the authority should draw out policies that are indigenous, and stopped following borrowed policies of the former Colonial masters. Mr. President will do the nation well, if he announced palliatives on petrol, which has become the life wire to any economy. The insecurities in the land is as a result of hardship the people are facing, and only the kindness of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can change the game.
