NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Senator representing Southern Kaduna Zone, Sunday Marshall Katung has expressed alarm on the scarcity of science teachers in his constituency and called on both Federal and State Ministries of Education to evolve strategies to address the challenge.

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung who made the remarks at an interactive session with Southern Kaduna Journalists Forum said there are several science schools in the country with laboratories but no science teachers.

He emphasized that some zonal education offices in his constituency have only two mathematics teachers and are in high demand for physics, chemistry and biology teachers who are very essential for the present technological advancement.

The Senator who advised political office holders to operate beyond political party affiliations to achieve profound results, expressed gratitude to the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for the express approval for the establishment of Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna state.

He therefore, urged media professionals to give priority to information and reports toward national development and societal advancement.

Earlier, the Chairman of Southern Kaduna Journalists Forum Mr. Ango Bally had commended the Senator for his achievement in the zone within a short period of time, emphasizing that political and infrastructural backwardness necessitated the establishment of the forum so as to bring the issues to public domain.
