NEWSDAILYNIGERIA -The 5th edition of Sani Abdullahi ‘ “Walin Kakuri”Ramadan Cup 2021 has come and gone with the Kakuri United Football team beating their rival; the Future Eagles Football club with 9-8 goals through Penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw.

The match which was played at the Government Secondary School, Kakuri, Kaduna on Thursday attracted the who is who in the Football business in the state and country at large.
Kakuri united opened scoring at the 23th minutes into the 1st half of the game through their Jersey no. 33 Ibrahim Yahaya, while Future Eagles no 5 Jersey, Dauda Adamu scored at the 33 minutes of the first half to canceled the early lead of Kakuri United.

After some minutes of struggling for superiority, the no 33, Ibrahim Yahaya of Kakuri United increased the tally with his second goal to keep his team leading few minutes into the second half of the match, but that was short lived with a goal from Sadiq Muhammed, no 21 Jersey of Future Eagles after a defensive error.

The match later ended in penalty shots after a 2′-2 draw at the close of the 80th minute of the final match,with Kakuri United thrashing their opponents, the Future Eagles 9-8 goals to emerge winner of the tournament.

The final match, however, is not without the normal display of skilful and artistic performance of the soccer game by the youthful players on both sides and lots more.

In the same vein, the sponsor of the initiative and competition, Mallam Sani Abdullahi, said it is his ways of giving back to the society, with the harness of grassroot talents who would later represent the country in future national and international events.

He also maintained that it is also aimed at bridging gaps of disunity , while encouraging unity and peace across the multi ethnic and religious communities in the area through the unifying power of Football.

According to Abdullahi, the competition which is the 5th edition will be sustained to continue to meet its vision and mission.

On his part, a Sports administrator, Mr Yusuf Best, described the performances of the boys as encouraging and believing that with continuous efforts and the right attitude and opportunity they will go places.

The highlights of the 5th edition of Sani Abdullahi,Ramadan Football competition 2021 include awards to Armeco Limited and Eurofoam Kaduna as deserving corporate organizations for their invaluable contributions to sports development among others.
