2023: Hon. Dikko Ends Southern Kaduna Senatorial Campaign Tours

NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: Ahead of the May 21 Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (PDP) primary election for the Upper Chambers of the National Assembly, a Senatorial aspirant of the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Honorable Samson Monday Dikko, has ended a 3 fays Campaign tour to 4 LGAs of the senatorial District.

The four local government areas captured in the campaign tour/ visit include  Kaura, Jama’a Sanga and Kauru Local Government Areas respectively, which held from May 4th to May 6th 2022.

While addressing supporters at Kaura Local Government during his opening speech, Hon. Samson Monday said he had come to bring the seat to their area, pointing out that it’s their turn to have the mandate after given it to one area twice.

He said that since he is the youngest aspirant among them all, his intention, is to represent both the present and the future,  adding that, his political career will move from senatorial district, to the state level. hence, the call to invest in him by giving him the ticket, cannot be overemphasized.

While responding to questions by journalists on the impact of the commitment displayed by his supporters during the tour despite some obvious challenges he said ” That shows love, that shows total support for Dikko’s campaign; and there’s that passion, the yearning for change for the next generation, so we are so excited for the turn up, despite the delay.”

According to him, he intends to tackle poverty and insecurity, confronting the Senatorial District, saying ” Insecurity is causing a lot in the country, you talk about hunger, you talk about poverty and lots more, but we will work with the government of the day, to make sure that something is done about the insecurity in the country.”

” If elected, we are taking the people of Southern Kaduna to the promised land, we want to change the narrative, we’ll work together with my wife to make sure we bring change to the people of Southern Kaduna, we will deplore our energy to serve humanity, because of the love for God, and ofcourse, which will be extended to humanity, we are going to serve them in truth and in spirit,” he stressed.

On her part, the wife of the aspirant, Chief Dr Chetachi Dikko, a philanthropist and CEO of ‘When In Need Foundation’ a Non Government Organization (NGO) with offices accross 50 countries of the world while responding to question on her philanthropic activities, said, she has so far done alot for the people of Southern Kaduna 

 ” I have done so much, I’ve done medical missions, and the most important one that I have taken up right now is agriculture.” adding that” for the past 2 years, I have been sharing seedlings all over the eight Local governments, last year, I shared over 1,500 bags of rice seeds to the widows, and to the poor farmers, so that they can be able to feed themselves, and feed their families.” she stated.

She further said ” It is not about getting anything in return, all I want to do, is to do good for the people of Southern Kaduna, the people that have been neglected for so many years right now. We want to make Southern Kaduna great for not just only the Southern Kadunas, but the surrounding communities as well, because all lives matter, every life matters, so enough is enough, we need Southern Kaduna to move forward.”

Similarly, the DG  “Dikko For Senate, 2023”, a former House of Assembly member, Kauru/Chawai Constituency, Honorable Timothy Chindo, while responding on what informed his decision to join the team, said “Hon. Samson Monday Dikko is a very young man who has strong passion for the young people, who has a strong heart for the needy, so when he approached me to serve in this capacity as the Director General, i accepted it with good hand because he is a young man like me.”

He pointed out that if Dikko is given the mandate he would use his connection with “When In Need Foundation” and other NGOs to make sure that he brings about total reformation in Southern Kaduna. “With this kind of connection i’m convinced that he’s the right person to go for this seat.” he aveered.

Responding on the chances of his candidate clinching the ticket, considering the presence of strong oppositions in the party, he said ” Yes we are aware we have other aspirants who are strong in their own ways, but it’s God that gives power, we are looking for this office from God, so we are totally convinced that the mandate will be given to Samson Monday Dikko, because he has a very strong heart, and his concern is for humanity..” he added.

He further maintained that the campaign tour was a huge success  ” it has been a tremendous success, because as you must have seen, the mamoth crowd; and politics is all about number, you see people, they speak for themselves, the people have spoken, you heard it from the horse’s mouth; we have achieved, and we thank God for today’s outing.”he said.

Similarly, the Public Relation Officer, (PRO) of PDP in Kwassam ward, Mr. Ezekiel Pasu, said that they have suffered for long in the hands of the past and even the present representatives, that they have no access to good roads, insecurity is at its peak, and their children have no access to quality education. So, Hon. Dikko is the light they have been waiting for.as he therefore maintained that Kauru Local Government Area is for honorable Dikko.

His words ” As far as Kwassam ward or Kauru Local Government is concerned,  we are going to elect Dikko, since he voiced out and took the DG of his journey from Kauru Local Government, particularly, in Kwassam ward, so, by God’s grace, he is going there.”

You may recalled that a similar tour took place sometimes back, in the other four Local Government Areas (Kachia, Kagarko, Jaba and Zangon Kataf) of the Senatorial District.

The 3- Days campaign tours started from Kaura Local Government, went through Jama’a, later moved to Sanga (The household of the state’s Deputy Governor), and ended in Kauru Local Government.

Highpoints of the events were the distributions of rice seedlings, wrappers, cash gifts, and other valuables, courtesy the wife of the aspirant and her NGO, to the vulnerable, mostly women and children/youths.

The tour attracted different prominent party exco members from and  across the state, Local Government areas, and party delegates, supporters, who were entertained/ thrilled to a colourful event and cultural displays by troupes and lots more.
