NEWSDAILYNIGERIA: The Esu Chikun, the SA Gbagi II, has confered the traditional title of Galadiman Gbagi to former Kaduna NUJ Chairman, Chief Andrew A. Fadason.

The veteran journalist and about 20 others had their turbaning/ coronation ceremony held on Friday and Saturday at the temporary palace of the chiefdom, at Sabo Tasha, Chikun local government area of the state.

Speaking shortly after the coronation, Saturday , the ESU Chikun, His Royal Highness, Ishaku Yari, noted that the chiefdom has been able to confer/ turban some of her sons and daughters yesterday and likewise today. While thanking God for the success, commended the state government for their support.

He said the coronation is necessary to hit the ground running, by constituting his council after he was appointed sometimes back and now given the staff of office recently.

He urged all those he turbaned, which cut across ethnic persuasions, to rise above board, adding that, their coronation is basically, to serve the people, 

He said, as title men and women, they should be careful wherever they go and whatever they do, as all eyes are now on them, while wishing them successs, 

According to him, among those  turbaned today, 3 were turbaned to take the place of their bereaved parents, such as the new Galadima, Chiroma and Jagaba of the Chiefdom.

 He then charged them to sustain the legacies of the late parents, in carrying out the work that God has bestowed on them all to do in this life

He specially called on the turbaned women titleholders to bring to bear  the peace attributes they are known with at home in the council

He further said some other appointments and coronation were made  to ensure and facilitate the security and peace of the chiefdom at all times among others.

” The message I have for my people is to come together, work together for peace, because without peace there cannot be any meaningful development” he added

 In the same vein, the newly turbaned Galadiman Chikun, Chief Andrew Fadason, in a vote of thanks onbehalf of those turbaned appreciatéd God and HRH for the honour bestowed on them.

He assured the Esu Chikun, that they are not unaware of the task ahead of them by this coronation, but however, pledged their loyalty and commitment not to disappoint him and the people.

He then appealed for prayers from all and sundry  to succeed, adding that they will do their best to ensure that they succeed, while thanking God for a successful event  and prayed for journey mercies to all.

While speaking to the newsmen at the reception in his honour, the  Galadiman Gbagyi described the conferment as exciting, but noted that it’s not completely new to him since he has been in the system. He however, thanked God for the opportunity to serve his people and hoped to do his very best.

On what to expect, the new Galadiman Gbagyi, said, he’s going to redouble his efforts to ensure the Chiefdom moves forward, adding that infrastructural development and security are very important, but “we will not shy away from the cultural aspect. We will promote the Gbagyi culture” he averred.
